Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty has appointed Mohana Priya as Cluster Director of Human Resources, bringing more than 22 years of hospitality experience across human resources leadership, people development and luxury hotel operations to the property.
Priya has built her hospitality career across Marriott International, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts and Hyatt properties in Chennai. Most recently, she served as Director of Human Resources at Park Hyatt Chennai, a position she held from December 2019 until her latest appointment. Her experience covers HR strategy, employee engagement, talent development, workplace culture and people management.
Transition into Hospitality Human Resources
Priya began her professional career in the manufacturing sector before moving into hospitality in 2006. Her transition into the hotel industry led to a career focused on human resources and people development.
She began her hospitality journey with Marriott International, where she moved into Human Resources and developed experience in people management and hotel HR functions. She subsequently took on leadership responsibilities with InterContinental Hotels & Resorts Chennai and Hyatt properties in Chennai.
Leadership Across Hyatt Properties
Priya’s career with Hyatt included roles at Hyatt Regency Chennai and Park Hyatt Chennai. Her work across these properties provided experience in managing people functions within luxury hospitality environments.
At Park Hyatt Chennai, she served as Director of Human Resources from December 2019 until her appointment at Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty. Her responsibilities covered key areas of hotel HR, including employee engagement, talent development, workplace culture and broader human resources strategy.
Her experience has also involved developing people-focused initiatives and supporting hotel teams through different stages of their professional growth.
Academic and Professional Background
Priya holds a postgraduate degree in Commerce from the University of Madras and an MBA in Human Resources from ICFAI.
Her academic background in commerce and human resources complements her more than two decades of professional experience. The combination has supported her work across HR strategy, talent management and employee engagement in the hospitality sector.

Priya was recognised as Hotelier India’s HR Person of the Year 2025 in the Upscale & Luxury category.
