Accor has signed an agreement for Sofitel Ahmedabad Palladium Mall Road, marking the first entry of the Sofitel Hotels & Resorts brand into Ahmedabad. Scheduled to open in 2030, the 250-key hotel will combine Sofitel’s French-inspired hospitality with elements of Ahmedabad’s local culture.
Located in Thaltej, the property will feature five food and beverage outlets, approximately 2,550 sq. m. of banqueting and MICE space, a kids’ club, and wellness and leisure facilities. The hotel will target corporate and leisure travellers, while also catering to weddings, social celebrations and business events.
Sofitel to Enter Ahmedabad
The signing introduces Sofitel to a city that has developed into a major centre for business, finance, infrastructure and enterprise. Economic activity around GIFT City, industrial growth and improving connectivity have contributed to Ahmedabad’s expanding business and leisure travel markets.
The hotel’s positioning is intended to address this mix of demand, combining accommodation with dining, events and leisure facilities. Its location in Thaltej will place the property within Ahmedabad’s developing commercial and lifestyle environment.
Maud Bailly, CEO Sofitel Legend, Sofitel, MGallery & Emblems, said:
“We are delighted to introduce Sofitel to Ahmedabad, a city known for its entrepreneurial spirit. Sofitel Ahmedabad Palladium Mall Road will bring our distinctive French zest to the city. We look forward to creating a destination where design, gastronomy, heartfelt service and cultural connection come together to offer guests a distinctive expression of Sofitel.”
250 Rooms and Five Dining Venues
Sofitel Ahmedabad Palladium Mall Road will comprise 250 guestrooms supported by five food and beverage outlets. The dining venues will include a combination of indoor and outdoor dining options, adding multiple formats to the hotel’s hospitality offering.
The property will also have wellness and leisure facilities and a kids’ club, broadening its appeal beyond business travellers to families and leisure guests.
The combination of accommodation, dining and leisure facilities is expected to position the hotel as a destination for both in-house guests and local customers, while providing the infrastructure required for corporate and social occasions.
Banqueting and MICE Facilities
The hotel will offer approximately 2,550 sq. m. of banqueting and MICE space. The facilities are planned to accommodate conferences, corporate events, weddings and social gatherings, giving the property a significant events component.
Ranju Alex, CEO, Accor South Asia, said:
“Ahmedabad is an increasingly important destination in India’s growth story, with its expanding business ecosystem, entrepreneurial spirit and growing relevance on the global stage. The signing of Sofitel Ahmedabad Palladium Mall Road reflects our continued focus on bringing our luxury brands to destinations with long-term potential. Sofitel’s French art de vivre, combined with an appreciation for local culture, makes it well suited to Ahmedabad’s evolving hospitality landscape.”
